Hello young readers, I am the heroine of these children’s books, and I am 8 years old! These stories are from my life and I have told them to my parents. My parents have created these books so that I can share my adventures with you. I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences as much as I enjoyed living them. Remember, just like me, you are special and can do amazing things. And always remember, your parents love you very much. With love and adventure, Yours Whyia

Whyia’s dad was drinking coffee while driving, but the traffi c was heavy, and the coffee spilled all over his clothes.

He didn’t want to go to work with a stain on his shirt, so he drove back home to change his clothes. When he returned home, he went straight to his bedroom.

Whyia was playing outside, looking for her doll, thinking,

maybe I left it in my parents’ bedroom yesterday?

She thought her dad was at work, so she didn’t knock before entering his room and saw him changing clothes.

Whyia was confused and wanted to ask her mom why her dad looked different to her without clothes. But she was too embarrassed to ask her mom about it, so she ran outside to play.

Suddenly, she saw a dog in the yard. Time to act! Whyia said, “Look at me; here I stand. Not a girl, but a dog instead!” and she turned into a dog!

The dog listened to Whyia’s story and said, “Don’t worry, I know someone who can help us. Let’s go see the doctor’s dog!”

The two dogs went to the doctor’s offi ce and met the doctor’s dog.

“Whyia, men and women have physical differences that make them look different without clothes.” the doctor’s dog patiently explained to her before drawing pictures in the sand to demonstrate.

The man had a penis and testicles, while the woman had a vagina and breasts.

“Look, here.” the doctor’s dog pointed out, “Men are usually taller and more likely to have beards, mustaches, and deeper voices…

…while women often have longer hair and higher- pitched voices. I couldn’t draw a voice, but you understand, don’t you?”

“It’s interesting, but my friend’s mom is taller than her dad. Is that normal?”

“Of course! We say that men are often taller than women, but there are exceptions!” The doctor’s dog drew three more men, two tall with beards and one smaller with a beard and a mustache.

“My dear, it is normal to feel embarrassed or ashamed sometimes,” the doctor’s dog added, “But it is important to remember that we are all different.

So, you should continue learning about your body and ask questions if you need help or guidance.”

Whyia thanked the dogs and returned to the yard…

…saying, “Look at me; here I stand. Not a dog, but a girl instead!” and she turned into a girl again.

Their neighbor, Mrs. White, was sitting on the bench in the almost-hollow yard with her newborn baby.

She was changing the baby’s diaper, and Whyia happened to see how the naked baby looked.

“Sorry, Whyia,” said Mrs. White, “I didn’t see anyone here, so I thought I’d quickly change the diaper.”

“That’s okay”, Whyia smiled, “Congratulations on your new baby boy.”

Whyia went home pleased that she had identifi ed the sex of the baby herself.
