Valentine's Day Adventure

Today Whyia woke up, stretched, smiled, and thought: Why?…

Why did Daddy say that he would make a lovely romantic dinner for mom tonight? And why did mom tell me about a surprise for dad?

Why today? What does it mean?

Whyia decided she should fi nd the answer herself! She would fl y around the world to learn all about Valentine’s Day.

She’d already been a dove… maybe, again? So, she said her spell, “Look at me; here I stand, Not a girl, but a dove instead!”

Whyia became a white dove and soared in the sky, taking in the beauty of the world below her.

s she fl ew over a small clearing, she saw a hedgehog family. Intrigued, she fl ew down to get a closer look. The Hedgehog was giving something beautiful to his wife!

“Excuse me, Mr. Hedgehog. May I ask what you are doing?”

“Oh, hello there. I’m just giving my wife a Valentine’s Day card. I want to show her how much I love her and our children.”

“How sweet! Love is such a beautiful thing. May I ask what it says in the card?”

It says: “To my darling wife, you are the sunshine in my life. I am grateful for your love and our children. Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.”

“I’m sure your wife will appreciate the gesture and the love you have for her. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!” said Whyia.

But she didn’t understand what it meant — this Valentine’s Day? So she decided to ask the swans near the lake.

“Excuse me, lovely swans. May I ask what today is all about?” about?” “Of course, Whyia. Today is Valentine’s Day, a day to celebrate love and affection between those who love each other.

On Valentine’s Day, people exchange gifts, cards, and messages to show their love and affection for each other. It’s a special day for couples to express their love and appreciation for each other.”

Suddenly, they saw two hares and two bears walking toward them, saying, “Happy Valentine’s Day!”

“Yes, happy Valentine’s Day!” Whyia replied. “What brings you here today?”

“We wanted to share our love story with you all. We met a few years ago and have been inseparable ever since.

Today, we celebrate our love and the joy it brings to our lives”, said a hare.

“That’s the same story as ours”, said the bear. “We’re going on a picnic in the meadow, and we’ve packed a basket of our favorite foods and drinks. We’re going to enjoy each other’s company and soak up the beauty of the day.”

“Thank you for answering my question”, said Whyia, “I hope you have a great day! Maybe the swans would like to come with you. But I need to fl y back home now!” she said, and she fl ew away.

Maybe, I could ask my mom, thought Whyia. So she said her spell, “Look at me; here I stand! Not a dove, but a girl instead!” With that, she returned home. Her mom entered Whyia’s room just as she turned back into a girl.

Whyia was still unsure about the meaning of Valentine’s Day and asked her mom the same question, “What does it mean, this lovely Valentine’s Day?”

“Well, it’s a day where we should say how we love each other and make some special things to give to our loved ones. Saint Valentine is an angel who told us that this day should be full of love!”

“I’d like to tell you and dad how much I love you.” said Whyia, “Maybe, I could make a card, but I don’t know how.” “Let’s make a card for dad together. I’ll help you.”

Whyia decided that it was a nice idea.

Together, they spent a lovely day as a Saint Valentine intended: with a lot of love.
